Exciting News for the Nonprofit Sector in Tennessee

The renowned Momentum Nonprofit Partners has undergone a rebranding and is now known as Tennessee Nonprofit Network (TNN). This is a significant move as TNN becomes Tennessee’s inaugural statewide nonprofit association. Their mission is multifaceted:

  • Strengthening Connections: TNN aims to be the bridge that connects nonprofits across Tennessee, whether they are grassroots bodies or large-scale entities.
  • Advocacy for Policy: TNN will champion policies at the state level that enhance operations for all nonprofit bodies.
  • Providing Valuable Resources:? The organization is geared towards furnishing nonprofits with data, research, and materials crucial for making informed decisions about their services.

Kevin Dean, the CEO of TNN, expressed that the nonprofit sector holds immense importance in Tennessee’s growth. Their objective is to unify the sector, ensuring every organization, regardless of its magnitude or purpose, can establish valuable connections and have a say at the state level. TNN is rooted in Memphis, Tennessee, with a team spread statewide. Their board of directors will be inclusive, representing various Tennessee communities based on the state’s regional population. It’s important to note that while TNN will primarily focus on state-level advocacy for nonprofit practices, their emphasis will not be on capacity-building within individual communities. Instead, they acknowledge the distinct needs of every community and aim to address them with local solutions. TNN will, however, remain active in the Memphis region, offering training and local programs. For those organizations with a 501(c)(3) status operating in Tennessee, TNN membership will be open and free of cost starting January 1, 2024. Immediate Impact Opportunity

Big problems need out-of-the-box thinking and brave, bold action. That’s why the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee has joined forces with United Way of Greater Nashville, Safe Haven Family Shelter, and the 30 other nonprofit organizations that comprise The Family Collective to come together to house 100 homeless families in 100 days.

FACT:? 450 families experiencing homelessness are on the Nashville coordinated entry list needing help.

While the goal sounds big, we believe it is entirely within our collective reach and wanted to share this opportunity with all of our fund holders and encourage you to make a gift from your DAF into the 100 DAY CHALLENGE FUND. On average, it costs $6,000 to house one family, but every gift will make a difference. Since the campaign launched on August 28th, 25 families have been housed, and we have 75 more to go. Every family in Nashville deserves the dignity of a place they can call home. We can do this—together.
