Giving is a virtue

The world's population is around  approximately 7 billion, Africa's population is around 1 billion, and it is the richest continent on this planet earth, which is able to feed the 7 billion, if it was managed properly. Every nation on the planet seem to want a piece of Africa, its rich resources. However, what is still shocking to me through the years of my journey of life, I find that an African's child life  is not getting better but it is getting  worse. Some children in this century we are in, are not going to school, they go without basic meals, they are homeless, die or suffer from preventable diseases such as malaria, cholera etc.  What with senseless wars escalating on an imaginable scale, corrupt governance, greediness, hatred, poverty, ill health, etc. They are the victims without a voice.  I am waiting for that moment, which comes but rarely in history, when Africans themselves step up from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of Africa, long suppressed, finds utterances. It is fitting that at that solemn moment we take the pledge of dedication to help and serve our children and to still larger cause of humanity and  say enough is enough.
