Giving Tuesday: My Passion, My Cause
Just now with one click of my mouse, I was able to help ensure children don’t go to school hungry, that they are provided with additional learning and support after the school day ends and that they have access to positive role-models in the form of mentors.
So how is it possible that I helped create all of these benefits with one click of my mouse? The answer is simple; I made a donation to Covington Partners.
As charities and non-profits around the world celebrate Giving Tuesday, I too wanted to help make a difference. Not only that, I wanted to ensure that my donation went towards helping the students and families of Covington – my hometown.
I grew up in Covington. I went to these schools. I walked these same hallways. And when I think of these children, I see myself, I see my friends and I see the opportunity that awaits them. But I also see the additional struggles and limitations that life imposes on those who are less fortunate. I think of those parents and caregivers who struggle with things like child care, food insecurity and positive adult role models for their children. When those and other needs are met, I know that their children will have the opportunity to excel and achieve in every phase of their life.
That’s where Covington Partners comes in. By donating, I know that I’m helping to provide the Covington Partners staff with the resources that they need.
On this Giving Tuesday, I encourage you as well to help Covington Partners in their mission to keep our community moving forward and to support them as they tirelessly work to eliminate boundaries to learning and success.
