#GivingTuesday - In 2018, individuals, non-profit organizations, schools, and businesses in all 50 states raised over $380 million online in the United States to benefit causes. People across the USA gave more in volunteer hours, donations of food and clothing, and acts of kindness. The average gift size was $105.
What can I do to help?
Do a search under the hashtag #GivingTuesday. This will turn up countless organizations where you can donate to a good cause. You know the big names – American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and Habitat for Humanity. Take a look for your favorite local groups helping the homeless, food-insecure areas, or safety net groups.

Organizers encouraged people to share how they gave back by posting their #UNselfie last year. Watch for #GivingTuesday promotions and ways to get the word out. Look for creative ways to promote your favorite cause(s). It's not just about giving money. You can also give your time by volunteering at a shelter in your neighborhood.

Call and offer to help a new non-profit with the campaign and peer to peer giving campaign. This allows you to use your talents and spend a few hours helping a nonprofit expand their reach.
Some nonprofit boards and staff do not yet fully understand the benefits of participating in Giving Tuesday. As #GivingTuesday continues to grow, it’s more important than ever to take part and create a powerful fundraising campaign.
