The Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, in collaboration with the?Institute for the Study of International Migration?at Georgetown University, invites you to the special Aurora Dialogues discussion titled “Innovative Approaches to Supporting Displaced Populations,” which will take place on December 5 in Washington, D.C. Join us as we hear from Burundian activist?Marguerite Barankitse, the 2016 Aurora ?Prize Laureate who has dedicated her life to saving children threatened by civil war;?Shadi Martini, a Syrian businessman who set up an underground network to provide health care to Syrians affected by the conflict and now serves as CEO of Multifaith Alliance ; and?Nazanin Ash, CEO of Welcome.US, who will talk about efforts to mobilize Americans to support refugees within their communities.
The Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, in collaboration with?The Promise Institute for Human Rights at UCLA Law, invites you to the special Aurora Dialogues discussion titled “Advancing Human Rights Amid Global Refugee Crisis” and a documentary screening of the?Marguerite’s Fearless Journey, which will take place on December 7 in Los Angeles. Following the discussion, there will be a special screening of a documentary about the 2016 Aurora Prize Laureate Marguerite Barankitse. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the complexities of international migration, the intersection of migration and human rights, and the impactful work being done worldwide to support displaced populations and advocate for their rights.?

The discussion titled “Prize Philanthropy: Elevating Impact and Celebrating Unsung Heroes” was organized by The Aurora Humanitarian Initiative in collaboration with the Network of Engaged International Donors (NEID) and Myriad in New York City on November 7, 2024.? Speakers included Dame Louise Richardson, President of the Carnegie Corporation and Aurora Prize Selection Committee Member; Celina de Sola , Co-founder and President of Glasswing International and 2020 Skoll Social Entrepreneurship Awardee; and Lydia Charles Moyo, Founder and Executive Director of Her Initiative , 2024 Global Citizen, and KBF Africa Prize Winner. The discussion was moderated by Raffi Gregorian , former diplomat, Navy veteran, and Aurora Humanitarian Initiative Board Member.
