During our quarterly Safety Week just finished, I had the chance to speak with the majority of the 100+ transit bus and motor coach drivers here at Marin Airporter, as well as our supervisors, administrators, and managers. These are difficult times for the transportation industry, but our team has pulled together and risen to the occasion.

Over 95% of our employees have continued to work for the entirety of the COVID crisis, through a combination of reductions in work time for hourly staff and furlough days or pay cuts for those of us who are salaried. Some have even offered to work less so that those with greater need could work more. They have foregone pay increases and bonuses, have pitched in with cleaning, landscaping, and other tasks to help reduce expenses, and have consistently taken extra care to keep themselves and our passengers safe. And they have done so not merely for a few days or weeks, but for months on end.

Most important of all, in the midst of the challenge and sacrifice, they have brought joy and an earnest sense of mission and commitment to our workplace. I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with such an outstanding group of people.
