Giving Thanks to ERAU and Faculty

Most of us have no idea where a postsecondary education program will take us when we start that journey. Sure, we have dreams and aspirations, but rarely are there guarantees on the other side of the diploma. Attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has been one of the best career decisions I have made so far. I had no idea what I was getting into in 2018 when I committed to the B.S in Emergency Services program. That program continuously tested me and forced my administrative and leadership capabilities to grow as a team leader and Fire Officer. When it came time to start on this Master's degree journey, the decision to return to ERAU was a no-brainer.

I say all of this because of the very kind highlight I received in our College of Arts and Sciences (COAS) newsletter and from our Dean, Donna L. Roberts, Ph.D. . The school has no idea how much gratitude I have for the faculty and fellow students who have set me up for success professionally and given me the tools our career field relies upon. ERAU has shaped and prepared me for many opportunities over the past five years, many of which I would have never believed possible.

These opportunities include career advancement into senior fire officer positions within the Air Force, professional credentials including CPSE Fire Officer and Chief Fire Officer, IFE GIFireE and MIFireE, as well as scholarships that have been an encouragement and helped make this journey possible. Most importantly, these skills and opportunities have helped me take care of our number one asset-our first responders, and make informed critical decisions on the fire ground.?

So from another alumnus, "embracing our dreams, with pride far and wide," Go Eagles!?
