Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving is a holiday that can’t help but bring a flood of memories to each of us. Here at REST, we don’t know what your special meaning is, but maybe this list will bring a smile to your face. Let’s start with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, what a great way to start the day!

For some, taking part in a Turkey Trot burns those pesky calories that come from knowing we will eat too much at dinner. We know that there will be lots of football watching. Seeing family can be stressful but also should bring back lots of fond memories. Spending time with loved ones who we don’t see all the time makes it special to mark this annual family event.

Overeating is not our goal, but if I am a betting man, it would be a safe bet that most people will overdo it, and Gma’s gravy…so good! Be thankful, we don’t eat like this all the time. One day will not ruin us as long we don’t make it a habit.?Not so fast, let’s not forget there will be leftovers. We can't start the diet until after the leftovers are gone.?

Lastly, but still very important to know, there is a good chance we will put ourselves in a food coma. We will feel the need to undo a button or be glad we wore pants that felt big before we started “the meal”.?

It is a time to be thankful for our health and all the good people we have in our lives.?We earned the reward where we get to REST after “the meal” and give thanks.?Happy Thanksgiving and we look forward to seeing you soon.
