Giving & Receiving

Giving & Receiving

Let’s get something straight.?Philanthropy and its facilitator, fundraising, is not a one-way exchange nor is it a two-way exchange.

It’s the coming together of two parties to accomplish something which neither can do alone.

Period.

Both givers and receivers have unique but critical roles to play.

I read an article recently that actually had the audacity to suggest that philanthropists better be damn glad they have the opportunity to give so they can “liberate” their less fortunate fellows.

The virtue under this scenario is all with the “do-gooding” organization.?

This “opportunity” sounds a lot like an obligation.?It’s no wonder that investors (aka donors) keep looking when presented with such a value proposition.

When they do, leadership in the nonprofit responds with the cop-out that people just “aren’t generous” anymore.?“Donors are going away.”?

And if they’re really tone-deaf, they then embark on some sort of new gimmick or device (usually technological) to “engage” with their donors.

Principle 1 of The Eight Principles? is Donors are the Drivers?.?They drive the philanthropic enterprise.?They don’t drive it with their financial resources, however.?They are driving it with their personal dreams, aspirations, and desire for self-actualization.?All worthy goals.

First and last donors are in the driver’s seat.

The savvy organization understands and appreciates this dynamic.?They invite their potential investors to participate in something bigger than themselves.?Read “self-actualization.”

This is why Principle 2 is Begin at the Beginning?.?Craft your message to potential investors with ideas and language that they will understand and be drawn to.

Nonprofits can do worthy work.?Essential work.?They get off track, however, when they adopt an attitude of “it’s all about us.”

Because it’s not.

What’s the aphorism, “It takes two to tango?”

When it works, philanthropy creates what I call The Triple Win?.?Philanthropists are the catalysts, nonprofit organizations are the facilitators, the communities are the beneficiaries.?Each benefit equally creating a symbiotic relationship where 1+1+1 = 5.

When your organization adopts and internalizes this, you’ll never have to be concerned about sufficient resources again.

NEVER.

The Eight Principles onsite training creates this culture within your organization in record time—and keeps it.?This is training you deliver on-demand to everyone in your organization.?This is training which builds understanding and consensus like nothing else.

Schedule a call and we’ll explore whether this is a fit for you.?Whether or not it is, you’ll finish our call with a clear understanding of how to improve your fundraising program.

When everyone in your organization understands what their part is you get the ultimate in fundraising.

Synergy.

That’s when your fundraising hits the roof—and then upward.

To get there you need everyone on the same page.?Literally.

How do you get there??The Eight Principles train the trainer system .

By using it on-demand with your own staff, it just gets better.?And better.?Learn more.

Here’s a short video on how our train-the-trainer works:

The best part??It doesn’t take buckets of money to get there.?It’s desire and will.

If you’re a nonprofit executive or fundraiser, schedule a call with me .?It’s complimentary.?Whether or not continuous training is for you, you’ll have a much clearer idea of where you need to go and how to achieve your goals.

Coaches and consultants this can be of immense benefit to you, as well.

As a coach myself, I feel the pain of coaches and consultants who spend inordinate amounts of effort and time just to get a client to the point where they “get it.”?It’s when that happens a consultant does their best work

This is where the Eight Principles training platform is used to get your client “there” in record time.?You take everyone from board room to front desk to the same place.

Clients don’t care how you do it.?They just want results.?If you deliver the culture in record time, you get to your custom work faster.?You serve more clients.?They get faster results.?Less time getting their attention.?More time sharing your true expertise.

Here’s a brief video that explains the advantages for coaches:

Coaches and consultants, let me hear from you.?Schedule a call and we’ll see if Eight Principles Training is a tool you can use to build your business and serve your clients more effectively while being more productive and growing your business.

Remember, success is a matter of the will.?It’s NEVER a matter of money.

NEVER.

To Everyone:?My goal is simple.?To show all who really want it the clear, proven path to abundance.

To Your Fundraising Success,
