This is about giving and receiving feedback !
I wanted to share a piece me and my colleagues Tijana Catenazzi , Hugh Radmall and Nour El Ferik put together for one of our regular communications on the importance of holding one-to-one sessions with your manager/direct reports.
When was the last time you had a candid and compassionate conversation with another person? ...recently, I hope?
We are all employees, and, or leaders, and at some stage in our career, feedback has played a crucial role in our personal and professional development It’s safe to say that the feedback we’ve received shaped us into who we are today, and the feedback given helped in developing others too.
Performance evaluations are critical in reaching our goals and full potential, and everyone should be comfortable to give and receive constant and consistent feedback.
Giving and receiving feedback is an art. We can all be artists in our own way, feedback is a gift irrelevant at which end of the conversation we are on. At different points in our career, we have discussions to provide guidance, improve performance, encourage collaboration and to recognise and support our individual needs.
We encourage you to focus your one-to-one sessions on “Giving and Receiving Feedback”. A one-to-one environment should be the safest place to perform and practice the art.
Stay encouraged and be encouraging, feedback unlocks potential!
