Giving companies a face

First impressions are everything.
The moment you meet someone new, there’s only a short 7 second window to impress. Once those 7 seconds are up, they’ve already made a decision and formed a judgement about you. It’s scary to think about how quickly first impressions are formed. Something as simple as the way you dress can be an major influence on how someone else views you.
It becomes particularly important to create a positive first impression when working within a company. The company's brand becomes essential in expanding the business, and if the consumers aren’t impressed, the brand may struggle.
As every company wants to be perceived as on trend and taking leadership within their chosen field, a company face can provide exceptional benefits.
The face can be something as simple as investing in a specific uniform for the employees hired to greet customers and provide a positive experience when purchasing the company products. The chosen uniform can act as an efficient, cost-effective approach to boosting a company’s brand, whilst maintaining a professional image for the business.
As the customers first impressions of the company will be that of the employees, a uniform can create a sense of familiarity. If you’re heading into a store, you want to be able to feel comfortable in knowing your visit will be a positive experience. A uniform can instantly provide that comfort and improve customer satisfaction.
Not only does the uniform allow customers to easily identify each member of the team, it can also create an instant connection of trust. A simple uniform can showcase a more professional impression and clearly display a knowledge base of the company products.
Despite a uniform being as simple as a certain dress code, using branded clothing can help make sure there’s no confusion between who works for a company and who’s a consumer.
Brands are everywhere. It’s clear, in the digital age, just how important marketing is to successfully promoting a company and getting a brand recognised. As consumers will have interaction with employees on a daily basis, why not take advantage and incorporate your brand within a uniform?
By creating uniforms that provide additional marketing advances, employees gain a sense of pride in wearing it. The chosen logos and colours can help differentiate a business within a certain industry and can set a tone for customer expectation.
If the brand image is correctly presented on the uniform, even in passing, customers are likely to remember the company and given they’ve had a positive experience, may encourage others to purchase products.
However, if a uniform doesn’t showcase the company clearly, it could be viewed as a cheap alternative that is said to lack professionalism. As a result, it could send out the wrong impression to potential customers and hinder that all important first impression.
This can also be said about the chosen style and overall appearance of the uniform. If the style is considered wrong for the chosen environment, the employees could be seen to lack authority. It wouldn’t make sense to wear a suit to an active, outdoor centre, regardless of how clear the brand is.
If a company uniform is of a high standard, then the business will feel more professional and employees will be more encouraged to take greater care of their overall appearance.
I strongly agree with giving your company a face. Something as simple as a uniform can create fantastic benefits for a business and give it the edge it may have needed. If you would like to share your opinions on the topic, I’d love to hear from you.
