Born in 1982; as a usual village chap, I was too Impelled as well as Compelled to move outside its home-place or birthplace to seek better education , and the source of livelihood. Impelled because an aspiration to do well and make our family , and society pride with oneself ride whereas Compelled because there is hardly anything which above matriculation ( i.e. class 10).
I moved to Mumbai just after completing my senior secondary and here comes real litmus test. Tests were vivid ranging from catching local train at peak of its hour i.e. 7 - 9 pm & 8-9 AM, left out foods at canteen, late night studies, boarding hostel, mother tongue influence, poor economic condition etc. As I look back , I count each of the struggles as my learning which made me stronger and stronger in one way or other. As India leaves in Villages , each second Indian faces this pain of migration and loose parental care, societal care , own culture etc. None the less , learn the capabilities to survive in competing workplace. It will be tough to call looser or winner in either case whereas both are necessities of life. Despite all odds, I got to the rank of Group Chief Financial Officer at the young age of 30, and worked trans nation, cross culture, across cities etc.
As we progress, we feel the need to duplicate assets which inherited eg house, car, etc. and we get into trap of never going back cycle. A middle class family counts each months take home salary for each month expenses and there is hardly anything much left to look beyond 2/3 months. But I was smart enough to not to duplicate the assets and hence an option always exists to exit any metro city vis a vis going back to home / village without much exit cost.
I started talking to my inner self that what this accumulation of wealth stands for. Gone are the Days, when one can enjoy the wealth accumulated by self or family bacause of eroding human values around us. we vis a vis Government are jointly responsible for social well-being or social wealth. How can we even enjoy our wealth in a surrounding mix of threats, criminals, pollution, eroding family values etc? May be self realization, I strongly believe that we carry dual responsibilities in today age - One - Being successful or standing oneself Second making others successful or assist other in standing them. None other than the approach of #Giving Back Mentality (GBM) can save our planet or surroundings. Its not an option rather compulsion, not a luxury rather necessity. GBM is very simple to understand and practice - give back what ever you have - let it be your time or thoughts or knowledge or resources. As you get deeper into it, you will realize that this is true assets. As the certificate of any success is given by outsiders , the certificate of satisfaction is always internal to us. Lets focus on what is inside us, what is under your control, what we can do..slowly and steadily..you will change around us..coolness around us..happiness around us..
Inspired and Impelled by above thoughts, I have founded Namami Mithila Foundation (i.e. NMF), a registered Non–Governmental-Organisation (NGO) with an inspiring vision to assist in carving out a Better and Beautiful World around us by engaging the people mind, heart and hands in creative and innovative ways. A beautiful initiative named Gyanoday has been implemented by adopting and giving them free but meaningful education to more than 400 children who stays in remote villages, no own homes, no adequate foods , no roads, no electricity and so on.
