Giving Back Makes Good Business Sense

I am a business owner with a heart.

Living by the philosophy “giving back makes great business sense”, led me to found Engage & Change, a charity that I am so incredibly proud of. For the past 19 years, Engage & Change has hosted two annual initiatives, Project Water and Project Winter Survival, providing kits filled with the basic necessities to survive extreme weather conditions to support the homeless community.

To date, Project Water has distributed over 2.5 million bottles of water and over 40,000 Summer Survival Kits to hundreds of social service agencies who support thousands of individuals struggling with homelessness. Project Water has made an enormous impact, but I am just getting started! There is such a growing need within the non-profit space and countless charitable organizations are desperate for hygiene kits, back-to-school kits, winter warmth kits, patient care kits, the list goes on and on!

With that in mind, I created Kits for a Cause. A social enterprise that provides engaged group volunteering and team bonding through kit packing events for the charity of your choice. We know that people want to make a difference in their community but often don’t know where to start. Kits for a Cause creates a turnkey solution for any company, family or group, by showing you how to run an employee engagement or group bonding activity that is seamless from start to finish. We work in partnership with the charities to ensure that the kits you assemble are exactly what their clients need.

I am very excited for tomorrow’s Project Water and the impact it will make across the homeless community in the GTA. Thank you Mark Horvath from Invisible People for creating this incredible video.

It is a great feeling helping the homeless. But I wish there was not a homeless problem to help! Follow our journey on social media tomorrow for live updates by using the hashtag: #ProjectWater
