Another round of "Giving Back with Domain Expertise"

Had the pleasure to get invited again for "Youth Leadership Workshop" as a part of "Model United Nation" forum in one of the Singapore International school.

The Topic was "Cyber Security Awareness Workshop for Children" which was among the Top favorites for the Children.

It was a great opportunity to discuss and create awareness on latest Cyber Security trends for these children. It was fun listening to their experiences and making them aware of their internet access to Mobile, Laptops, Tablets, house hold devices etc and how vulnerable they can be if basic care is not taken. Walking them through different experiences and latest trends of "Phishing", setting up their devices, Accounts and creating awareness on identifying the common pitfalls.

This is definitely a different experience than the corporate world where we talk of end-to-end security and perimeter security devices. It also helps me connect to the real world and learn from these youngsters on the latest innovative trend of consuming the internet.

The feedback along with the teachers was overwhelming with "Ahaa" moments, this was an eyeopener and a great learning for the children.

 Workshop description:

As children are exposed to Internet and various applications related to it, dealing with cyber experience has become more challenging.

Considering the Cyber threats surfacing recently that are highly serious in nature affecting children, the proposed workshop aims to create the awareness around cyber security and children cyber behaviour. 

The Cyber awareness workshop aims to educate children on the basics of Cyber threats to help them understand and deal with Cyber threats.
