Giving Back to Community with Domain Expertise - Be The Bridge

As a part of Cisco culture, we organize & participate various giving back activities. We have been doing Bread distribution, Food preparation and packing, Spending time with elders as some of our regular activities. This time we challenged our-self to give back with our domain expertise.

After completing CISPP certification, CIoT course it was ideal to focus on the current concerns in the society related to today's Cyber technology. As a parent, Cyber Parenting and Children Cyber Behavior was a major concerning area which required immediate attention.

We started our journey with a bit of research and applying our domain expertise to created custom collateral to suit the current concerns of Parents and Children. Though we were offering this knowledge as a social activity, positioning the same in local schools too was a typical sales experience. After all the efforts, we managed to conduct a workshop in an local International School in coordination with the Parents Association to approx 100 parents. This received an overwhelming response from the parents.

We were further invited for "Youth Leadership Workshop" as a part of Model United Nation forum in the school for students workshop. The students response too was overwhelming and the workshop was an eyeopener to both Students and Parents helping them with awareness on the latest trends and combating the Cyber world with safety measures.

The Cyber awareness workshop aims sharing of latest trend related to Internet Games/Social Media, and guidance to Mobile, Browser and Internet Account Settings related to Cyber Security, which would help to mitigate the risk of Cyber threats surfacing recently that are highly serious in nature affecting children.

After listening to Parents and Students feedback, We are confident we are addressing real current concern of the society and our choice of giving back with domain expertise is proving successful.

There has been great demand for this social activity and now we have requests lined up as our journey to Giving Back with domain expertise continues...........
