While 22 children enter foster care monthly, 60% of foster providers quit within the first two years. These competing trends mean that children in foster care must frequently switch homes. Nationally, 65% of children who were in foster care for 12-24 months have had a placement change more than once. Each of these placement changes has the potential to impact a child negatively. Simply Foster envisions a different future for children in care.

Simply Foster exists to accelerate the care of kids from hard places using the power of technology. Our messaging platform is for foster care providers and caseworkers. The platform aims to speed up the time-to-placement and sustain those placements longer.

Messaging Platform.

We use SMS messaging to help caseworkers find foster homes with availability for children. The platform also provides a “pulse” survey to support the health of foster providers. As the platform grows, we also plan to add digital passports for children.

Friendly ChatBots.

Foster providers and caseworkers will be greeted by friendly chatbots when they need something that can be serviced automatedly. For example, a chatbot will respond to caseworkers when they ask which homes are open for a child in need. Foster providers can also opt-in to “pulse checks” from Simply Foster. A chatbot will ask providers how they are doing so that humans can follow up with support.

Data Insights.

Currently, caseworkers don’t have a quick, easy way to know which homes are open for children in need. Similarly, caseworkers, licensing workers, and foster agencies don’t have effective methods to know if their providers are thriving or just surviving. Simply Foster offers data insights to agencies, caseworkers, and parents so they can thrive as a professional team.
