Give yourself credit first

Give yourself credit first

It took me several years before I started to feel comfortable speaking in meetings with colleagues.?

The knowledge and experience I’d accumulated no doubt helped build confidence, but what ultimately made the difference was learning to give myself credit first?—?learning to default to the belief that I was in the room for a reason and that I had useful ideas worth sharing.?

It’s hard to speak up when you don’t believe your words could possibly have value?—?or to build things when you don’t think you have the ability to build.?

You deserve more credit than that.?

Before you have, you need to first believe you can.?

Couldn't agree more. So many introverts keep their great ideas to themselves if only they'd speak up. There is a book on introverts by Michael Thompson 'Shy By Design'. Have a read if you like. https://www.amazon.com/Shy-Design-Timeless-Principles-Quietly/dp/1538175843
