What's something that tends to escalate our stress as humans? Change and lack of control.
Too often we're in situations where the unexpected happens.
Now it's only natural for us to anticipate the future, to imagine what's going to happen.
Where we get into trouble is when we become attached to that vision, because let's face it -- we don't really know what's coming and we can't control whatever comes.
This week, I feature two really critical topics in my newsletter via my blog and podcast. We're talking about how you view change and how much you drive yourself.
Change can bring on paralysis.
Driving yourself too hard can lead to burnout.
Either way, no bueno.
So check out the resources below and just maybe, you'll come away with a new perspective on change, an appreciation for the importance of taking a step back, or a technique on how to manage yourself no matter what the "obstacle."

Picture this: You’re working late into the night, staring at your computer screen, and sipping on yet another cup of coffee. Your mind is foggy, your body is tense, and the list of tasks seems endless. You push yourself to keep going, telling yourself that you just need to power through. But what if I told you that taking a step back could actually help you move forward??
In this week's blog article, we’ll explore the importance of giving yourself a break, sharing the stories of three individuals who learned the hard way that burnout is real. By the end, you’ll understand why taking breaks is essential for preventing burnout and what specific actions to focus on to make sure you’re on the right path.

In this week's episode of the Decode Your Burnout podcast, our guest Ron Gold shares his personal experience of a sudden life change that left him in a wheelchair. Ron's story is a powerful reminder of the importance of resilience, mindset, and finding purpose in the face of adversity.
Through his story, Ron emphasizes the importance of making the best of things and breaking them down into smaller, manageable challenges. He also shares his mindset hack for people who are paralyzed and discusses the psychological aspects of adapting to change.
Ron debunks several myths, including the notion that those with disabilities are not capable of achieving greatness. He also talks about how authenticity and vulnerability are essential for resilience and purpose, and how comparing one's struggles to others is not a helpful way to motivate oneself and minimize one's challenges.
Ron's insights are incredibly valuable for anyone going through a significant life change, and his message to be comfortable with who you are and what you're dealing with is a powerful one.?Tune in to this episode?to hear Ron's inspiring story and learn more about how to adapt to sudden life changes.

My clients are busy. Really busy. But something funny happens when we start working together. They get their work done more quickly. That's not the interesting part. What is? That they start filling up their free time with more work that doesn't amount to much.?
So this week, I'm recommending the TEDx talk by?Laura Vanderkam. She?explores the concept of time management and suggests that we can make better use of our time by taking a step back (sound familiar?) and reevaluating how we spend our free time. She argues that by being intentional with our time and making small changes, we can create more space for the things that matter most to us. Her talk provides practical strategies for overcoming the feeling of being overwhelmed and taking control of our lives.
