Give your company back its heart!

Do you get a sense that your staff have stopped believing in what they’re doing? Is the atmosphere flat and un-inspiring? Are people just going through the motions at work? Do you feel that there so much untapped potential in your teams if you could only find a way to release it.

I once spoke to an ex-forces operator who in his own time would organise cross-services sports competitions all over the country but would struggle to communicate to staff in neighbouring rooms or report issues he was having with equipment.

Outside of work people setup mortgages, run households, work out childcare logistics, fundraise for charities, etc but can be completely “un-entrepreneurial” in the workplace.

As the amount of fulfilment and purpose is lost from the working life the relationship between employee and employer becomes more and more transaction.

What if the passion in everyday work was re-kindled and the working life served for a much higher purpose? What if the company could show that it really cared about the individual realising their hopes and dreams and be an enabler for their success? What loyalty and dedication would this create and the personal desire to reciprocate

A proper coaching experience can wake up an employee to what really will give them fulfilment and help them to design a lifestyle which honours their deepest values.

I’d find it so interesting to hear if there are others like myself who have undergone a step change in job satisfaction and performance through coaching and living a life which is true to something they really believe in.

As a coach myself now, I am getting first-hand experience of what truly makes people tick, re-connect with their purpose and see how this gives them huge drive in achieving their goals in a their work and home life.  I believe we should fight that our companies are filled with passionate, purposeful and successful employees and this will lead to the companies success.

Perhaps this is what is behind Richard Branson's words:

"Employees come first. If you take care of your employees, they will take care of the clients."

Honest reflections; it’s definitely necessary to seek and strengthen our deepest inner motivation for daily life efforts and hard-fought performances. Very well written!
