Give your business the gift of consistency

Give your business the gift of consistency

As the end of the year approaches, let’s think about gifts that keep giving. What could you gift your business, for example, that would support growth, cut down costs, and free up your time to be used more efficiently?

The answer is simple: consistency.

It might not feel like a grand gesture, but consistency is the backbone of successful businesses. It creates reliability and ensures great customer experiences through continually achieving high standards, but it also means you, as the business owner, are able to work effectively and efficiently.

Consistency is especially critical if you want to grow or scale your business as it enables you to automate basic, repetitive tasks.

In this article, we’ll look at three reasons you can’t afford not to bring consistency into your business – and why it should be top of your list of gifts worth giving.

?

1. Consistency is an essential element of successful business growth

There are two sides to this coin. Consistency means you run your business in a repetitive way, always using the approach that gives you the best results. To find this ‘best version’, work through everything you do on a regular basis and capture this as your operating processes. Tweak them to work for you in the most optimal way and capture them, preferably in some sort of system (a CRM is ideal). You can now implement these consistently, saving time on the behind-the-scenes repetitive tasks and delighting your customer by always giving them the best experience.

As well as delighting your customers, you’ll build stronger trust through being reliable and this means greater loyalty.

Consistency is so much more than just a routine; it’s a strategic tool for business growth.

2. Consistency enables you to maximise business opportunities

At Blake Consultants, we often talk about client staircases or customer journeys. These phrases mean that we see clients as having an ongoing relationship with your business. They can grow with you if you understand how your solutions and services fit with their experiences.

Consistency comes in handy when you’re planning your customer journeys. That’s because most of your clients will go through a similar experience, or follow a similar path, in how they need your assistance.

When you spend time understanding this natural progression through the services you offer, you can use that knowledge to guide future clients to follow the same path as existing ones.

Having a consistent journey mapped out will keep your clients engaged, set their expectation and help you to convince them to take the next step with you.

You can use your CRM system to prompt or flag when a client reaches the next ‘step’ of the journey and also set up automated touchpoints to bring them into a sales conversation.

In this case, consistency lights the way for your clients and creates a frictionless journey.

3. Consistency allows you to create a clone of your best self

Lots of the things you do in the day-to-day running of your business are simple, repetitive tasks. They’re small things which probably make a big difference.

We’re not devaluing these tasks, but we are suggesting it might not need to be you that completes them every time.

Having a reliable, purpose-built system, such as CapsuleCRM, means you can create processes which ensure these tasks are completed automatically or, at the very least, that you receive a prompt to save you remembering every small moving part of your business.

We call this ‘creating a clone of your best self’ and it’s a really powerful tool for growth and efficiency.

You can keep things personal and bespoke for your clients but you don’t have to physically involve yourself in every interaction. Setting up email touchpoints, automated check-ins, and ensuring your various digital systems are talking to one another are all examples of building this consistent clone in your business.

When we work with clients to help them build these systems and processes, it’s often to ensure they can continue to run their business at the standard they want to, without burnout as it grows. Undertaking this work means their businesses will grow with structure and purpose, setting them up for continued success.

In Summary

Consistency should run throughout the fabric of your business. It is the foundation for simplifying, sustaining and scaling and, if you choose it for your business this festive season, we can assure you it will be the gift that keeps on giving.

I like the idea of cloning myself (in theory) and by that I mean getting support. I think clones may actually exist and I know people have created digital clones of themselves - this is too far for me.
