Give it a REST

No matter who you are, you may have felt this way at one time or another. Please know you are not alone. The media tells us that we live in troubled times. Today you can look on-line and find an editorial that might read something like this…

“The world is too big for us, too much going on, too many crimes, too much violence and excitement. Try as you will, you get behind in the race in spite of yourself. It is an incessant strain to keep pace and still loose ground. Science empties its discoveries on you so fast that you stager beneath them in hopeless bewilderment. The political world moves so rapidly that you are out of breath trying to keep pace. Who’s in and who’s out, everything is high pressure, human nature can not endure much more.”

This could have been written the last week, but it appeared more than 189 years ago... on June 16,1833 in The Atlantic Journal.

We all need to do better job taking a time-out and not letting the outside world impact our feelings all the time and every day. This means now, more than ever, it’s important to learn how to “Give it a REST”.
