“Live for yourself and you will live in vain; live for others, and you will live again.” Bob Marley
This has been inspiring from long and it’s now a guiding principle for the everyday work today. To ‘grow by giving’ is an ultimate feel. Grow so that you can give is a known phenomenon & that’s where the angle of charity, contribution, human consideration emanated. The party with surplus and having a will to #give & grow became front runner as giver & earned the status of becoming a social entrepreneur involved in the betterment of the small underprivileged group of Individuals & their communities.
#Philanthropy to protect interest of needy people emerged as one noble way of sharing prosperity & indirectly partnering the growth phase of this part of trailing society.
Was it result of generous hearted individuals who stepped ahead to part off some section of their additional savings to support humankind? Was it purely from standpoint of garnering attention and get the PR mileage out of it (with / without the social work was done fully or not)
Companies and brands following the #CSR have in last decades shown significant progress in this direction. Whatever be the reason behind, the mere outflow from your profits( even though it’s small) to create a meaningful difference in lives of people , uplifting them, skilling them, imparting them basic knowhow to get knowledge, resources and way of better life, improving their living conditions, conserving natural resources all are in the right direction. With this the opportunity to create a shared, sustainable and socially successful world is possible and this should gain more momentum.
The tryst with identifying & working with following stakeholders have grown my experience in building a better world to live.
1) #farmers for improving their farm productivity,
2) #autodrivers for improving their earning capabilities,
3) #mechanics for for improving their working conditions,
4) #fleet operators in improving their working efficiency,
5) #unemployed Youth to improve their skilling cum earning opportunities,
6) regular #customers & #citizens to improve their daily lives,
7) #small shop owners to expand and become micro entrepreneurs
8) #customers as change makers
9) #students growing with scholarships & completing their studies
As long as this pursuit of life-building growth blocks are taken up diligently, as long as the motive to shape a real change is on, as long as the beneficiary remain the centre of our purpose and work this is guaranteed to grow.
“The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively”-Bob Marley
Are we set to create this impact for good?
Imagine if even half of the world’s citizens feel the same & act responsibly, this is going to have tremendous impact and eradicate the differences prevalent in society. It will give solid chance to those who are deserving , bolster independence and make them self-reliant as strong pillars of an emerging society and growth hungry nation.
This mindfulness movement, alone could become one of the biggest driver of long term growth defying cyclical slowdowns and temporary downturns.
Thus creating shared value or CSV is based on the idea that corporate success and social welfare are interdependent. CSV acknowledges trade-offs between short-term profitability and social or environmental goals, but emphasizes the opportunities for competitive advantage from building a social value proposition into corporate strategy. CSV gives the impression that only two stakeholders are important – shareholders and consumers.
