Give a Better Incentive
Looking for the stats of my latest article, there was a note to "Post Again." It claims people who post receive "4x more profile views." Do you know how many profile views I received in 2020 for saying "Wear a mask until such a time when you no longer have to?"
A lot of angry views. I didn't mind wearing a mask at work, to the movies when theaters opened and on airplanes. It did not infringe on my rights. Fifty thousand people died from Covid-19 last year.
Alright, many were old and it still thrives in Nursing Homes where people are susceptible to almost anything. That is still a lot of people. I stopped caring "Who Viewed Your Profile." Some of the well known on here viewed my profile when I questioned something they said. Didn't say they were wrong. I simply needed clarity.
By not answering the question and viewing my profile- which I interpret as a "Hate view"- no connection was made. Had that person answered the question and viewed my profile- the communication is most important.
Black Lives Matter. LinkedIn Profile Views do not. A woman blocked me for saying that. Not only was I vindicated after the George Floyd incident- it is nice that I have not had to deal with her annoying posts. She is a friend of friends. When her name comes up; I mention how she gave me the death penalty.
Which is her decision. Makes you wonder what she thinks about Black lives. I post all the time. Four hundred articles per year. It's what I do and, to me, no big deal. I don't write to be noticed or to have someone view my profile.
Remember- when I changed clothes in the locker room many men viewed my profile. That made me feel like I wasn't merely removing my wet bathing suit to put on dry clothes. I don't recall the men who stared.
A few approached me and talked about different topics. That was nice. This gym had a hot tub and conversations started there occasionally. If someone looks at you and looks away, that means nothing. They are marginally interested. If they don't approach you- it is no incentive to merely be a "Face in the Crowd."
I have had people look at me and look away as if to say "Nothing to see here". It's another reason I don't drink. No one wanted me to have a drink and engage in a conversation. No, they wanted me to be Chris Farley; looking for validation that never truly came.

It's like The Chippendales sketch. That put him on the map and he made an impact early in his first season. On the other hand, it didn't do him any favors. The cast and writers have mixed feelings on whether that was good for his career or not. It did not show his range.
He drank to excess trying to perform for his friends and could never succeed at rehab. Some people repeatedly go to rehab and cannot break through. Another story, another article.
There is good attention and bad attention. Profile views do not discriminate. Some guy posed nude on this site. You can only see him from the waist up. He probably received a lot of profile views from that. Will it lead to business?
Certain women have posted pictures in their Halloween costumes. They are catsuits. Heck, Ariel Lee posted a Halloween picture in a unicorn costume. It wasn't revealing and fits her personality.
She received many profile views because of that. There are sites where you can scroll pictures of members. I have not seen that on the profiles I have viewed. Usually a decision is made based on the professional picture and how the member is presented.
There are many advantages to writing. I feel growth and new ideas pop up when the older ideas are written. There is a feeling of fulfillment. I don't check profile views. When I comment with someone for the first time, they do not respond and merely view my profile- that is creepy. No connection will be made.
I have muted some who have done that. Without looking at Who Viewed My Profile, my mental health has improved and it is not a prize to view my profile. Anonymous profile views mean even less. You cannot connect with whomever does not reveal their identity. It is creepy like someone watching you through the bushes.
All the more reason not to care. My experience here is better without caring who viewed my profile. You know where to find me if you want to do business. I receive enough blind solicitations that I don't need any more. I don't write so someone will view my profile. That is not the point of posting.
