The flight landed, passengers disembarked and moved to the lounge to collect their baggage. In the lounge there were volunteers who had a small stall collecting donations for a cause. Many passengers walked by the stall and never bothered to even give the stall a glance. Volunteers were having a tough time getting any donations for their cause.
A man who had disembarked from the flight saw these volunteers, their struggle, the stall and the cause. He stood in a distance sipping a cup of coffee observing the volunteers and also the passengers. Noticing what was going on, he went to the florists, brought a bunch of roses. He walked up to the volunteers and said, “Listen, when passengers walk past your stall, just hand over a rose and greet them”.
The volunteers began to do as the man has said. As passengers took the rose, they stood for a second and were willing to listen to the cause and also contribute. In a matter of few hours contribution started flowing thick and fast.
As human we have feel the moral obligation to return a favour in one way or the other. Nature has its way of restoring when anyone gives. For it’s in giving that we receive; the more we give, the more we receive.
Giving is not just in terms of money, but in terms of time and effort and anything we have. Human lives are like a bank account, there cannot be a withdraw money unless there is a deposit. This applies to profession, careers and relationships.
When anyone starts a profession or career a lot of time, effort and money needs to be given. After some. Once a decent amount of time, effort and money is given, the profession or career returns benefits for the entire life
Even in relationships, one has to give freely. As time and effort are given, relationship return in terms of joy and happiness
The more one give, the more one receives. Lives become richer by giving as there is great inner joy that is derived from giving. Giving provides an intrinsic reward that is far more valuable than the gift itself. Possibilities to positively impact human lives by giving are innumerable. Encourage to grab every opportunity that is presented to give so there is a positive impact on the communities we live and work.
