Givat Haviva
???? ????? ????? ?????, established in 1949, is the oldest #Israeli institution promoting reconciliation between "Jews and Arabs" (Israelis and Palestinians).
Ya’akov Hazan, one of the founders of Hashomer Hatzair World Movement , delivered an address observing the 30-day remembrance of the 52 Kibbutz Artzi members who fell during the 1967 ‘Six-Day War’.
Knowing Hazan’s background, he came off writing that Shmuel ‘Mula’ Agin’s death really struck him—to the core. I was surprised at Hazan’s honesty; he so disagreed with him on just about *EVERYTHING* — maybe especially on the latter's fierce objection to this "pre-emptive" strike and Agin's efforts to prevent it.
Hazan pointed out that Agin came from another, perhaps ‘entirely’ different, kibbutz movement; yet exemplified the "Shmutznik" (Hashomer Hatzair member) at their quintessence.
I believe it is important to point out that Mula Agin was a #Zionist pioneer in the truest sense of the term (though indeed DIFFERENT from the typical Ben-Gurion–Netanyahu, etc., archetypes we’re all familiar with).
