Githinji

?I arrived at his stall, only to find, people waiting in line to have their phones fixed. When it was my turn, as I was explaining what was wrong with my phone, the man reached over and took it. As he was fiddling with it, I imagined the astronomical figure he was cooking up to charge me like some vendors these days, who feeling the pinch of the economy, charge twice or even three times the price. I guess forgetting the saying – never kill the goose that lays the golden egg. The longer he took with the phone, the more expensive, I feared, it would cost. After a few minutes, he gave me back the phone and said it was a google update problem and he had fixed it. When I asked him how much he would charge me, he said, not to worry about it. I guess he figured there was no need to charge me since he had not, technically, fixed it. I wondered how he could be so honest, when everyone, from those in government right down to the hawkers were not. Now I understood why people were waiting in line.
