GIS Programming for Environmental Health Research with Opensource Software (QGIS, R, Python)
Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal)
Working towards a world in which all people can enjoy health
This is the third edition of that we, at the ISGlobal GIS team, have offered on GIS analysis for researchers, based on more than 10 years of work in this field.
We've designed the course to help you advance your research and promote the bases of reproducibility in spatial analysis. We teach how to process and analyse geographic data using [R](https://www.r-project.org/) or [Python](https://www.python.org/) (or both). Spatial data must be explored in a geographic context: [QGIS](https://www.qgis.org/) is our preferred tool for this.
What will you find in this course?
Our course consists of 20 hours of class, 15 of them being hands on tutorized exercises using [JupyterLab](https://jupyter.org/) notebooks, completely online, recorded and shared on the Virtual Campus.
You will find that you can access the online classes even if you're not able to follow them live (or if you just want to review concepts). This makes for a flexible course format that can be taken according to your schedule and from any time zone.
We're committed to coaching you along the way, reinforcing key concepts, and ensuring that this course will be useful in your research.
?This year we are going to make an extra effort to help the programming newbies!?
