GIS Awarded Major Maintenance Contract for Gulf of Mexico Operations

Grand Isle Shipyard, LLC (GIS) Awarded with Major Maintenance Contract for Gulf of Mexico Operations

GALLIANO, LA – Grand Isle Shipyard, LLC (GIS), one of the industry’s most capable and trusted energy partners, has been awarded a three (3) year contract with two additional year extension options by Shell Exploration & Production Company, a subsidiary of Shell PLC to provide major maintenance services for all of Shell’s deep-water assets in the Gulf of Mexico for up to five years.

We are excited that Shell has placed trust in our company to continue to expand our 30+ year partnership.

This contract affords us the opportunity to display our capabilities on all of Shell’s assets across their GoM portfolio as well as provides long term security for our teams dedicated to Shell.”

Both partners have begun working transition plans for staffing of all assets with our goal to complete the transition for each location as seamless as possible to ensure minimal, if any, disruption to operations and the current workforce. GIS will be providing personnel support within major maintenance to include Superintendents, Rope Access, Crane Operators, Scaffold Builders, Welders, Fitters, Riggers, I&E Technicians, and Project Management support.

The award of the major maintenance scope affords GIS the ability to enlarge their service offerings of Offshore Construction & Maintenance along with Project Management to now include the addition of our E&I capabilities within the Shell GoM business.

Along with the current Shell assets where GIS has previously provided manpower to support this scope, the contractor will significantly increase their total headcount as they staff up crews for all of the Shell GoM deep-water platforms.
