Two important facets for maximizing time when there aren't enough hours in the day are: #ChooseWisely and "Time Generation".
Many people are adept with (or at least working toward) #ChooseWisely.?This is oftentimes referred to as successful prioritization, and it's an approach where you are purposeful with selecting your targets while leveraging important criteria, such as highest impact, hard-stop deadlines, happiness factor, and more.
Fewer people are skilled with (or even aware of) what I like to think of as "Time Generation". ?It's an approach where you are purposeful with selecting how best to complete work and tasks so they are accomplished in the most efficient manner.?It requires that you develop an innate sense for ROI (REF Google "Return on Investment") to ensure that any planning or configuration time ultimately pays off when you're considering the total time/cost of the full project [or your full life].
This oldie-but-goodie, jampacked treasure-chest from #SuperStar Scott Hanselman is an exemplar of "Time Generation." (p.s. It also includes lessons on avoiding "common tragedies", especially when you're working to make an important first impression ??. In fact, it covers one of my secret rubric criteria when scanning a mountain of résumés.)
