The Gift of Time: Small Moments, Big Impact

The Gift of Time: Small Moments, Big Impact

How valuable might your time be to someone else?

We often talk about how precious time is—the one resource we can never get back. We guard it, protect it, and prioritize how we spend it. But what if the best use of your time isn’t just about what you gain? What if a small piece of your time could create a lasting impact for someone else?

Imagine this: A five-minute conversation with an up-and-coming salesperson could give them the confidence they need to close their first big deal. A ten-minute coffee meeting with an entrepreneur could help them overcome a critical hurdle. For them, your time might truly be a difference-maker.

Of course, no one can take every meeting or say “yes” to every request—that’s not sustainable. But we can strive to recognize the moments where sharing just a little of our time could lead to something much bigger.

Think about it:

  • A quick chat might inspire a future leader.
  • A thoughtful response could set someone on a new path.
  • A shared idea might lead to collaboration or innovation.

Time isn’t just about management or preservation; it’s about intentionality. How we use our time reflects our priorities, but it also demonstrates our capacity to connect and uplift others.

The next time you’re presented with an opportunity to share a little of your time, consider what it could mean—not just for you but for the other person. You might learn something new, gain a fresh perspective, or make a meaningful connection.

We’re all people working under the same clock on the wall. Time is valuable. Protect it. Use it. But most importantly, share it wisely. Now...I have a few LI messages to respond too...if I can.

Who has shared their time with you, and how did it make a difference?
