The Gift Of Rejection

As we ebb closer and closer to springtime, innumerable educational letters are currently being mailed and received. Some letters contain enthusiastic welcomes of acceptance, while others express boilerplate verbiage in rejection.
A few points of consideration, regardless of which letter you happened to receive.?
First, if you got accepted to your top choice institution, please take the time to relish in your well-deserved pride in accomplishment. Simply be mindful in celebration around classmates and colleagues simultaneously choking on bitter pills. Always be both gracious in defeat, and magnanimous in victory.
Second, not being granted admission into a particular school is never a fatal flaw that derails an otherwise positive life journey. Knowledge gained, friendships made, and skills acquired are the end-state objective of any academic pursuit, not a pledge of allegiance to a specific fight song.
Finally, if your dream university denied you admission this time around, then double down and keep attacking (either at the undergraduate level, or in pursuit of a terminal degree). Thank the Admissions Committee for the gift of rejection and reapply. There are very few things in life more motivating than an external declaration of unworthiness, and often victory goes to the person in the arena too stubborn to relent. Will it into reality.
Peace and blessings to all for your journeys ahead.?
