The Gift of a New Year

Every new year offers anticipation much like a gift ready to be unwrapped. Before we set about pulling the string and tearing off the wrapping paper, there is time to reflect on the year just concluding before embarking on the new.?

As the last few years have gone, each has had its extremes in circumstances and restrictions. Some happy, some not joyous, some down right nerve wracking and tragic. For many of us a new year offers an increasing feeling of unease with how things will unfold, a looming trepidation. Yet we look forward to a new year regardless of what the past has put us through in hopes we can cope and come out on the other side somehow better than before. It’s a very human experience we are living through in an interval of history that is earmarked by great change, an evolutionary process occurring in every aspect of life. At the end of 2022 I am reflecting not on the difficulties, or goals that fell short, but am reminded of the resiliency of human spirit and creativity to solve problems while moving forward. ?

I am so very grateful for my clients, my close friends and family. I am grateful for creativity and method to express it while continuing to support my family financially and emotionally. I am grateful for community and the increasing presence of humanity. I choose to look at the positives rather than the negatives not because of a Pollyanna perspective but because I know through life experience, things can always be worse. I choose to align myself with others moving forward staying connected to their integrity and values while pursuing professional and personal goals. These are key characteristics of the community nurturing a foundation for a healthy economy and lifestyles that offers opportunities for everyone, not just a few.

To all I have had the pleasure of interacting with, Thank You! May 2023 offer each of us more blessings than difficulties, more forward than backward steps, more creativity and prosperity and most of all, the internal Peace with who we are. There will always be a process to go through challenging as circumstances may be. So here’s to having the positive energy to get through whatever lays ahead within 2023 ~ as the true Gift that is to each of us.?
