The Gift of Giving
My mother lost her battle to heart disease in 2012. During her battle she endured three open heart surgeries, which were very invasive, and turned out to be a painful experience for my entire family.
I decided I didn’t want others to suffer like she did, so I joined in the fight against heart disease with the American Heart Association. My involvement with this organization has proved to be very rewarding, and continues to expand to fundraising efforts in the Dallas area. I am honored to be an ELT member for the Cotes du Coeur event, which is being hosted this week, and will be hosting an annual charity golf event in the fall.
I want to express my gratitude to those who are donating time and money each year to further advance our treatment of heart disease. It is truly satisfying to see the direct impact we have when you meet those that have survived due to the research and advancements we support with our giving. Either way, I hope that in all of our “busyness” as people and corporations, that we find the time to give to a meaningful cause. Whether it is the American Heart Association or another organization.
