GIF's: It's Complicated
Six years publishing on this site, a testament to my life's work and an autobiography or sorts has led to this? This is my first and last GIF and I use it to prove a point. The importance of making eye contact? That is incredibly important.
Some use GIF's from movies (now is not the time to debate whether it is pronounced GIF or JIF. Work it out for yourself.). The defense is the moving picture causes your comment or post to stand out. There is good attention and bad attention.
What stands out to me? Good ideas. A post from a long time connection whose work I have not seen in a long time. Maybe the algorithm kept us apart, maybe they had nothing to say for a while. Either way? It's nice seeing a familiar face.
Not Leonardo DiCaprio. He is a fine performer who shares a birthday with my father. If I see him raising a drink or holding Kate Winslet on the bow of the Titanic? That might get your foot in the door. It also makes me wonder what happened to movie stars? Another story, another article.
Commenting on a GIF laden post leads to further comments. That means the GIF is in notifications. Anyone who likes or comments on this post will bring this image to my feed. Am I that desperate for readers? I keep writing and will until that day I die. What about when I write Work Lessons From Chesty Morgan's Deadly Weapons?
That is a film that has never been mentioned on LinkedIn. I never saw it and know about because John Waters watched fascinating films inspiring him to make obscure, fascinating films.
The beauty of writing on the internet is research. Without showcasing this film from The Auteur Period (1967-1977 was a golden age of films) the IMDB.com description sounds more interesting than the movies we cannot see in theaters this summer.
"An overly endowed executive uses her unusual physical attributes to revenge herself against her fiance's murderers."
Alright- it probably is not as good as Tenet should be. It was released the same year as Death Wish. That is an entertaining film that showcases the TWA terminal at JFK.
Heading into my sixth anniversary I just bridged the gap between mammary glands and the work of Eero Saarinen. I'll never be a Top Voice. I love architecture. My work is more like blueprints than the structures. Does form follow function in articles? It can. The body of the article is more important than the headline and image.
You have my attention. Now say something that builds a relationship. that is why writing is art. It is not "Content" the way I do it. The GIF might get your foot in the door. What you say once the ice is broken will determine who listens and cultivates ideas leading to relationships.
Using my proven knowledge/expertise in Administration to the advantage of a Great Employer. Unfluencer??
4 年If you look at my articles I have been using GIFs for a while now. I find they are a great way to illustrate the article but also show how it is possible to make the opening image of an article come alive. With one series they are are used as an illustration of the story itself. The time taken to create a GIF also ensures one creates a means of identifying your work too. I will never forget the reaction I got the frst time I did an animated opening image using a GIF. However as strange as it may seem the tool I use to create the GIFs is a very old model but for me it works well. I am sure there are more advanced systems - but I like the one I use.
