Danske Spil gross gaming revenue reaches DKK2.55bn for H1

Operator Danske Spil has reported its financial results for the first half of 2024.?Overall, total gross gaming revenue reached DKK2.55bn ($379.30m) during the period, representing an increase of 3% year-on-year, while profit after tax went up by DKK85m to a figure of DKK1bn. The company partly credits the improvements to high pools in lotteries, especially the Eurojackpot, as well as the positive effect of a product change for Lotto last year. And, despite the slight decrease in revenue for Danish License Games, Euro 2024 saw an increase in the number of customers showing an interest in Oddset’s products. Read the full story here.

AGA projects $35bn in legal NFL wagers for 2024 season

As the 2024 NFL season kicks off, the American Gaming Association (AGA) has released its first-ever legal handle estimate for the league's season. The AGA projects that American adults will wager $35bn with legal sportsbooks throughout the season, marking a significant increase from the estimated $26.7bn wagered during the 2023 NFL season. Thai Government to proceed with casino plan

Thailand's plans for a mega entertainment complex housing casinos will proceed, according to Deputy Finance Minister Julapun Amornvivat.?The statement was quoted by Thai news media, as Amornvivat announced the decision after the conclusion of a public hearing, where 80% of attendees agreed with the plan. The Government's proposed entertainment complex project, which included a casino, was also mentioned when the ‘Casino Bill’ draft was released for public feedback back in August.
