Entain potentially facing further £100m litigation claim related to Turkish operations

Industry giant Entain could be faced with a new group litigation claim from investors, related to its reporting of the bribery and corruption linked to its Turkish operations.?The law firm Fox Williams is investigating the group litigation claim, where damages sought from Entain could potentially be upwards of £100m.?Back in November, the operator paid a financial penalty plus disgorgement of profits totaling £585m over its legacy Turkish business in relation to activities of former third-party suppliers and former employees of the group. Entain also donated £20m to charity and paid a contribution of £10m to HMRC and the CPS’ costs.?Read the full story here.

Arizona Department of Gaming opens application process for event wagering licences

The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) will begin accepting applications for event wagering licences in July. The ADG, established by the Arizona State Legislature in 1995, serves as the state regulatory agency for various gaming activities, including tribal gaming, racing, event wagering and unarmed combat sports. Off the back of this licencing development, the ADG will offer no fewer than one event wagering licence reserved for Arizona Tribes as well as for Arizona Sports Franchises. Spribe unveils Johnny Walker as latest UFC brand ambassador

Brazilian light heavyweight UFC fighter, Johnny Walker, has become the latest brand ambassador for iGaming developer Spribe. Walker is now the third UFC fighter – following on from Alex Pereira and Merab Dvalishvili – to undertake the role of promoting Spribe’s flagship crash game, Aviator, to players across the globe. Drawing focus on his home nation of Brazil, Walker is now set to take part in a number of promotional marketing campaigns as part of Aviator’s latest Latin American engagement strategy. Beter partners with SportyBet to provide sports and esports content

Beter has partnered with SportyBet brand owner Sporty Group.?Specifically, the agreement will see SportBet players gain access to Beter’s in-house Setka Cup table tennis and ESportsBattle tournaments, the latter of which currently includes eFootball and eBasketball, with CS2 and eHockey expected to follow. SportyBet is an operator in Africa, which holds intentions of expanding its presence in territories such as LatAm. Australia implements credit card ban for online betting

Responsible Wagering Australia (RWA) has announced that users can no longer use credit cards to pay for any online betting. This measure has been strongly supported by the RWA and its members since 2021, as they begin their collaboration with the Commonwealth Government and financial service sectors to bring about the change. RWA CEO Kai Cantwell said this is a necessary protective measure, as it will enable customers to be more in control of their own gambling behaviour. Read the full story here.
