Gewirtz Fund Announces 2025 Grants

The Gewirtz Fund is pleased to announce our 2025 grant recipients.

Soundscapes (Newport News, VA) provides music education and performance opportunities to students on the Virginia Peninsula from 1st grade through age 25 through free after-school music programs, summer programs, and the Peninsula Youth Orchestra. They will use our grant to repair and purchase new instruments.

North Franklin School District (Cornell, WA) recently commenced a new orchestra program at three elementary schools. The program will be available to all 5th and 6th grade students across the district and will be given as an elective option for students to participate in during the school day. They will use our grant to purchase up to 3 new basses!

MusicWorks (Asheville, NC) provides an intensive artistic and social program to children in underserved populations, using music education as a transformative and empowering tool to teach life skills. They will use our grant to expand the El Sistema program.

The Gewirtz Fund’s mission is to inspire young students to deepen their connection with string music. We fund a variety of initiatives including a special focus on direct support of the unfunded priorities of organized string music programs, mentoring programs, and high-level concert experiences.
