Plan to Fail, or Fail to Plan?

Many businesses fail. Five years after their launch in the UK, more businesses are dead than alive.

Despite extensive evidence that businesses with a disciplined planning and execution process are more likely to survive and grow faster than businesses without, only the minority of SMEs have a plan that is jointly developed, written down and shared with the whole team.

If this is a wake up call for you, there is still a chance of joining us for a half day business planning session on 31st March, 12 noon to 5 pm at Wilmslow Rugby Club. Click below for details and registration:

BIG FRIDAY FINISH

The Big Friday Finish is available to anyone across the globe?who wants to achieve more, do more and be more! It's your time to learn from world-class leaders in their field. Every Friday 4-5 pm.

Last week's Big Friday Finish: Are You Ready to Become Your Best?

With Brad Sugars, sharing his 30+ years of business experience helping communities of entrepreneurs learn and grow from his mistakes and techniques. I particularly like the theme of learning that runs through the session - Business Owners need to know the 20% most important parts of all the functions and skills, and in such a changing world, learning is a never ending journey:

And Finally....Why do SME Business Owners Need Accountability More than Corporates?

I had a moment of epiphany this week, a "Blinding Flash of the Obvious", even though I have been coaching SME business owners for over 4 years.

I made a connection between two truths - sometimes an insight can be obvious, once you've recognised it!

In corporates, unlike SMEs, shareholders and CEOs/MDs are different people

Therefore, in big corporates, shareholders keep the business leaders accountable for driving growth and profitability.

Who is the person most easy to let down? Ourselves of course!

In the absence of a support and challenge structure to keep us accountable...

... it's all too easy as a business owner to let ourselves off the hook.

If you see the value in having someone on your side to keep you accountable for having a plan; taking action; building your people, strategy and systems; reviewing and improving your marketing and sales; becoming the leader you want to be, etc, then get in touch..
