Getting to work.

Getting to work.

Hey, thanks for stopping by.

I can't stay long though. Got lots to do.

All of these grand plans of mine are great. Everything works like a dream on the spreadsheets. Now I just need to actually do them.

Word of the week - overwhelmed.

There are many huge benefits to running a one person business, versus my previous agency of 80 people. But there is one clear downside. All of the actions are mine.

I set myself the goal at the start of the year of becoming personally profitable (read the newsletter here). Basically to start earning the same amount (or more!) than I spend each month.

I'm excited to report that I have a solid plan to achieve this goal far sooner than my December deadline. BUT, the plan currently only exists on a Google Sheet. It's a theoretical plan. I have a lot of work to do to make it a reality.

The majority of the work is for FounderON , with the creation of the digital courses that I mentioned last week.

But that seems like a drop in the ocean compared to the work needed at the Cassidilly house we bought in Ireland. I visited again last week, this time with my parents for the first time. Just the process of showing them around and discussing our plans really hit home how much of a monster project we have on our hands.

I'd thought post-exit life was going to be a bit more relaxing I think.

Anyway, putting the Irish money-pit to one side for now, as most of that work is in the hands of the local conservation officer before we can start.

Lets talk digital courses.

Firstly, any suggestions for another name, other than digital courses?

It feels like that term is a bit commoditised and low value. My aim with my courses is to deliver the same guidance and insights that I do with my consulting, but in a digital format.

Hmm, maybe I'll call it digital consulting.

Of course the value will never be as high as working 1:1 with someone, but I'm confident that I can get 60-70% of the value across in the courses, and reach far more people than I have the time to speak to.

The format will be slides that I run through on video. Basically as if I was talking to you on a video call, but pre-recorded. Throughout each module I'll be giving guidance, while referencing examples from my own agency, as well as two fictional businesses. I think it's important to give examples of things to make them really hit home.

The aim of the courses (sorry, consulting) is that people can turn them into actions in their business straight away.

There will be two products.

The first, called GROW will be covering the core pillars of a successful service business. Proposition, Sales and Operations. The output should be a business capable of generating the magic £83,333 revenue per month.

The second called, SCALE is much more granular detail of specific growth levers available to scale a business to £5m revenue and beyond.

I'll launch them on 1st July.

And on 13th May I will release a pre-sale.

Why a pre-sale?

Well, I know me. And the process of getting the course content from planned to finished will be tough. And the only way to ensure that I hit that launch deadline is with the dopamine rush of people signing up.

But of course people should be rewarded for showing faith in a product that doesn't yet exist. So reward I shall.

13th May until 19th May the courses will be 90% off. Whaaaaaaat? 90% off? Yep, you heard me right. So the GROW course will cost just £10.

20th May until 26th May the courses will be 70% off. I hope you'll agree, still amazing value for £30. But.... you probably should have saved yourself £20 and bought it a week earlier.

Then from 27th May until 30th June, they'll be 50% off.

And from 1st July onwards they will be 100% on. Nothing off. Discounts over. Chance missed. But still very good value for the money of course.

But I don't expect people to make a blind leap of faith on the 13th May, even though I'm basically giving it away. There will be a landing page giving detail of each courses content and the formats etc.

So that's what I'll be working on over the coming weeks. I've even bought myself a Regus membership to allow me to lock myself in a bland, soleless office 1 day a week without calls or meetings. Just to force me to do the work.

I'm going to need that dopamine guys.
