Not Getting What You Want? You Are Probably Missing This.
Upon graduating from university and co-founding my first business, I found myself thrust into the company's sales role.
In preparation, I read all the books I could find on the subject. I bought audio and video programs. I enrolled in a course.
I went into my conversations with scripts in hand.
I failed miserably.
I hit a point where I decided to throw all the scripts and approaches into the wind and go with my gut.
It worked! I went on to find my groove and serve my clients.
It reminds me of the story of the lady who went to a famous Italian restaurant. She asked the chef if he would share his famous ragu recipe. He agreed.
A few weeks later, the lady went back to the restaurant and asked to speak to the chef.
She told the chef that she had tried the recipe, but it was a disappointment.
He responded by telling the lady that she likely left out the most essential ingredient... her self.
What do you think? Are you feeling choked off right now? Could it be that you are not putting YOUR SELF into the activity?
