Getting started with Sitecore demo portal - A real quick way

Introduction

The purpose of Sitecore demo portal is to simplify the process of spinning up a working Sitecore solution, allowing you to quickly demonstrate the main features with each new Sitecore release.

You can access this demo portal using the url https://portal.sitecoredemo.com/. After login, if you get below page, you might not have access to this portal.

How to get access

To get access to this site, you might need to connect your partner manager. Your organization's partner manager can invite you for your access. You should get an invite email something like this.

You just need to hit the button "Get started" and it will redirect to the demo portal site. You should be able to get below screen.

You can see that it is empty list of instance. To create an instance you need to click on "Get a Demo" button right to Home link. There would be multiple options to select one like below.

Available Demo templates

• PLAY! Summit?– A headless site and apps built to showcase the power of Sitecore’s composable digital solutions.
• PLAY! SHOP?– A headless commerce site built to showcase the power of Sitecore’s composable commerce solutions.
• Experience Edge?– Product (XM + Edge) Deploy this empty template to quickly PoC and try out Sitecore’s Content Management System.

Once you select required template, next steps would be selecting the integration plugins available and you can configure those plugins i.e. Content Hub, Github. And then, you can continue with final Deployment. You should see something like below.

You can hit "View Details" button from top right on Information bar in yellow to get more details about the deployment progress.

And once deployment done, you get all the details you might need. i.e. Content Management URL, Edge Target URL, Active Integrations etc.

Along with this, you will get an email confirmation as well on your current user email inbox.

You are ready to play around.
