A network that you build and make connections with as a freshman can be an excellent way for you to establish relationships that can be beneficial for your future career as well. Here are some tips for networking from my experience;

1. Attend networking events. Look for events in your area that are specifically geared toward careers. These events are a great way to meet people in your field and make connections.

2. Join professional organizations. Joining professional organizations related to your field can be a great way to meet people and make connections.

3. Use social media. Social media is a great way to connect with people in your field. Use platforms like LinkedIn to connect with professionals and join groups related to your field.

4. Reach out to professionals. Don't be afraid to reach out to professionals in your field. You can send them an email or a message on social media introducing yourself and asking for advice.

5. Follow up. After you meet someone, make sure to follow up with them. Send them a thank you note or an email to stay in touch.
