This newsletter will tie in closely to my bi-weekly live show (every other Thursday at 4pm CST) where I will interview other content creators from a variety of industries as they share their tips, tools and tales of their unique content journey. The ultimate goal is to support YOU on your journey to being a content creator and thought leader in your area of expertise.
My guest this week is LinkedIn Live Stream Expert, Gabe Leal. He started the Daily Live Stream Guide, The One Stop for All Things LinkedIn Live. I've followed his journey since then and have been blown away by his transformation. He's now produced and hosted 300+ live shows. He has tried it all when it comes to live streaming and equally important, I really enjoy his work ethic, authenticity and big heart.

Content Tip of the Week - Create Content for Different Learning Styles
How do you learn?
Early in my career doing corporate communications and training, I realized that people learn in different ways and it affects how long they can retain that knowledge. These techniques can guide you in different ideas for content creation. There are 4 types of learning styles:
1?? VISUAL - These people learn by seeing. Videos, photos, diagrams, images, infographics, etc all help this type of learner.
领英推荐
2?? AUDITORY - These individuals learn by hearing and speaking. Podcasts, audio books, voice messages, audiograms, voice memos, etc are all great ways to cater to these audiences.
3?? WRITING & READING - Who loves to read and take notes? This style is for you. LinkedIn articles, newsletters, blogs, long form text posts, etc appeal to this group of people.
4?? KINESTHETIC - Do you learn better by doing? I’ve seen wellness & fitness coaches do demos on this platform. Asking people to follow along by doing demonstrations, following exercises, etc will get this crowd engaged.
When you want to appeal to the different learning styles of your audience, try these different suggestions and switch up your own content.
I’m mainly a combination of a visual and kinesthetic learner so imagery and exercises attract my attention. What about you?
Should people avoid VULNERABILITY?
839 people voted on my Vulnerability Poll. 92% voted for "It's a strength. Lean into it." 8% voted "It's a weakness. Avoid it." Check out the results to see the comments that people made.
Brene Brown popularized this concept with her TEDTalk on The Power of Vulnerability that has 56 million views! Cheri Garcia was my guest on my previous show and we discuss this topic in a deep conversation. Watch the replay here and you'll start to realize how to incorporate more vulnerability into your content to connect deeper to you audience and from there, that's how communities are build.
A little inspiration . . .
Inspiration for content creation is everywhere around us. When I'm stuck for content ideas, I usually listen to podcasts on my way to dropping off and picking up the kids at school. One day, I stumbled upon a brilliant podcast called Song Exploder, hosted by Hrishikesh Hirway.
Using the isolated, individual tracks from a recording, Hrishikesh asks artists to delve into the specific decisions that went into creating their work. Hrishikesh edits the interviews, removing his side of the conversation and condensing the story to be tightly focused on how the artists brought their songs to life. Guests include Fleetwood Mac, U2, Metallica, Yo-Yo Ma, Alicia Keys, Lin-Manuel Miranda, R.E.M., and more.?
One of my favorite songs last year was Follow Me by Imagine Dragons. This podcast breaks down the thought process behind the song from the heartbreaking story of singer, Dan Reynold and his wife that inspired the lyrics, to the technical and musical components of the composition, to dilemmas he faced while writing it. It was riveting getting a glimpse into a brilliant creator's mind. I hope it sparks inspiration in you when you listen to it too.

3 年Fanny Dunagan you have found your calling. You did a great job on the last #dfwABTP event. I always learn from you. My primary learning mode is Writing and Reading, but use Kinesthetic when teaching tennis to juniors. I find the difficulty in teaching juniors is using a parable they will understand and breaking the strokes down into principles of three. You have given me some ideas in your post. Thanks.
