Getting started with IBM Containers on Bluemix
Now that you’ve learned about the top five game-changing capabilities of IBM Containers on Bluemix, take advantage of this complimentary trial offer to get started today.
1. Log into the IBM Bluemix console. Select IBM Containers.
2. You can view documentation or sample labs, or you can select Create a Container.
3. The deployment panel offers a variety of configuration parameters.
? Select an image from the registry (for example, ).
? Provide a name for the container or group (such as ).
? Specify the container size; details about the specs are available at the bottom of the page.
? Deploy either a single container or a scalable group of containers.
- For single containers, you can assign a public IP address and specify the ports that are public, and you have the optional ability to assign a Secure Shell (SSH) key to the container.
- For groups of containers, you can specify the number of instances and the HTTP port, and you have the option to specify the route domain.
? Select “Auto-recovery” to automatically deploy a new container if one crashes.
? Click Next.
4. Review your previous selections.
? If you require persistent data, you can add a volume and specify the mount path on the container.
? Additionally, you can bind any existing Cloud Foundry app that is running on Bluemix.
? Click Deploy.
5. On the dashboard, you can monitor and manage the newly deployed container(s).
? Each container or group of containers provides detailed information about that deployment, including private and public IP addresses; allocated resources; and CPU, memory and network utilization metrics.
? Container management allows you to stop, pause, restart or delete instances.
