It may not be your favorite time of year, but it is going to be here before you know it! Tax Time! Tuesday, April 15, 2025 is the official IRS deadline to file your taxes for this year. The window has opened to begin filing however. ?Don’t wait for the last minute to start gathering your documents and info for filing.
Here is a quick list of some of the information you may need to file yourself or to give to your CPA/Accountant/Tax Preparer.
Personal Information
·???????? Social Security Numbers (SSNs) for you, your spouse, and dependents.
Income Documents
·???????? W-2 Forms: From your employer(s) showing wages and tax withheld.
·???????? 1099 Forms: For income from freelance work, interest, dividends, retirement distributions, etc.
·???????? K-1 Forms: If you're a partner in a business or a shareholder in an S corporation.
·???????? Other Income Statements: Such as rental income, unemployment compensation, or alimony received.
Deduction Documentation
·???????? 1098 Forms: For mortgage interest, student loan interest, or tuition payments.
·???????? Receipts for Charitable Donations: Documentation for any donations made.
·???????? Medical Expenses: Receipts and statements for out-of-pocket medical expenses.
