Getting Past The ATS So You Can Get Back To Work

Getting Past The ATS So You Can Get Back To Work

You want to get back to work, as soon as you can.

The good news is, you can take steps now to get back to work first, when your state/county/city reopens businesses.

To get back to work, you first have to get past Applicant Tracking Systems, while competing against many other qualified candidates. Employers won't be able to be able to interview most of the qualified candidates - You need to make sure they interview you.

Here are two steps to make sure you get past ATSs, so employers interview you:

  1. Heavily Customize Your Resume: If you're like most job seekers, you're lightly customizing your resume, spending an average 15-20 minutes/resume (or not at all). This isn't enough to get your resume through ATSs very often, even when you're qualified. Invest an average 45 min-1 hr/resume to give yourself a better chance of getting your resume seen by employers.
  2. Send Fewer Resumes: This is a bit counter-intuitive, but sending fewer resumes will generate more interviews for you. Rather than applying to every job "you could do", instead focus all of your efforts on the opportunities you can do better than anyone else. When you identify positions where you can provide a strategic advantage over others, putting all of your efforts into just those jobs will deliver better results to your job search.

To learn more about heavy resume customization and sending fewer resumes, let me show you how to get past ATSs to land the first jobs being hired during the recession.

This is the 3rd recession I've recruited/coached through, so I've seen first hand what resume and job search strategies succeed during recessions. I've also seen mistakes candidates make, causing their recession job searches to fail. I've been through this before and know what works and what doesn't.

That's why numerous job seekers who work with me have already gotten job offers this month.

As a top national recruiter who reads hundreds of resumes per day, who has helped hundreds of thousands of candidates in their job search, and seen thousands of employers' job search processes from the inside, I've got a different perspective than most career coaches.

I see that most job seekers do essentially the same things, even when they think they are job searching differently. I also see most job seekers were taught search methods that get screened out by ATSs and eliminate them from consideration, because they conflict with the employer's hiring process.

But I've been teaching job seekers to overcome ageism for 13+ years by using non-traditional resume/job search strategies that demonstrate impact rather than just being average. I'll show you how to beat ageism and find a great job during the recession by understanding employers' point of view and hiring processes ... and using this understanding to beat your competition.

(I'm not just a career coach. I've also been a top national recruiter for the last 15 years ... so you'll get advice from a different perspective - an insider's point of view.)

Let me show you what you can do now to change your job search and resume so you can find a great job during the recession, even if you're unemployed or over 40.
