Getting Out Of Your Own Head!

Getting Out Of Your Own Head!

Do you ever go through those ruts in life where you just can’t get yourself to do what you know you need to do?

And even though you know that it is important you just keep putting it off.

People will say “you don’t want it enough” but let’s be honest, of course you want it enough!

Why wouldn’t you want to get ahead in your career!?

Why wouldn’t you want to be healthier!?

Why wouldn’t you want to be a better person!?

So I call bullshit on the idea that you don’t want it enough. I’d hazard a guess to say you feel pretty bloody awful about the fact that you don’t have that thing that you want just because of how much you DO want it!!!

Your Program

Imagine a computer sat in a room.

In fact imagine a whole room of all the same computers - like those (if you’re young enough) rooms you had at school full of them

You remember how those rooms had computers that were all the exact same make and model? Well, so are these.

In fact they are all built to the same spec so they have the capacity to be just as good as the computer next to them or the one the other side of the room.

But they haven’t been installed yet with any software, hardware or whatever other ware goes on to a new computer.

Two people are programming each computer.

They know a bit about programming but only what they’ve picked up. They’re not pros, in fact all the people have had a different experience of programming so no one computer is going to end up the same.

So they all have the same spec… but all of them are running differently!!

Some fast, some slow, some freeze, some glitch. They’ve all got bugs but everyone thought they are doing the right thing so they have no idea they even put the glitches in there! And the computer only knows the programme so it believes this is how it is meant to run.

That’s your brain.

You’ve been programmed. Mainly by your parents. But you had a world FULL of programmers.

And you don’t even know you’ve been programmed. Let alone how.

Get Out Of Your Own Head

Thing is, once you realise there’s a whole load of automatic stuff running in there, you can step outside of it and take a look.

Let’s imagine that programme again for one second.

You can’t go in a fix it until you have investigated and studied it to figure out where the problems lie.

So step outside of it.

Take a look at it.

Figure out what needs fixing.

The Triple A Approach

Awareness - become aware of how your programme runs. This means realise how you think.

Attention - pay attention to when it runs, why it runs and decide, by paying attention, as to whether this is what you want from your programming.

Action - take action to remedy it. Figure out what you actually want your programming to do. And reprogram it!

We’ve all got assumptions on things in life which makes us take a certain course of action.

If you think interviews are going to be hard, you will prepare for them to be hard and you will get nervous.

If you think selling to someone who is paid more money than you is intimidating - you will become intimidated when selling to someone.

If you think going to the gym is boring - are you going to go and find the fun in it? Damn right you won’t, you’ll put it off because you don’t want to be bored.

Knowing that you are in control of this program is awesome.

It means you can make it run the EXACT way you want.

It will take time, patience and repetition.

But it will be worth it when you flip the results of your health, career, fitness and life!

Peace!

Will
