Getting the most out of Technology

The Integrated Digital Service is utilising the Microsoft Power Apps to help solve business problems?with?the creation of low-code or no-code applications across the NHS in Leeds and Leeds City Council.?As teams and individuals work closer with the platform they have managed to build applications in short time periods and have even speeded up delivery as people have become more familiar with the Platform.

Leonardo Tantari, Chief Digital & Information Officer for Leeds City Council and Leeds Health and Care Partnership NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, said: “As we advance with our digital transformation for Leeds, I believe Power Apps and the Power Platform have an important role to play due to its development efficiencies, low code/no code applications and ease of use.?Ensuring the IDS team can support the wide service provision where we can safely share and capture information on the go, simplify processes and remove manual or paper processes is a big opportunity for our service.”

Power Aps are also accessible to non-technical users and enable people to make, in a matter of hours, tools and applications they would like to use.?To ensure this is achieved the IDS team recognises that training is required along with best practice guidance.

Richard Irvine who has recently joined the IDS team as?Chief Data Officer, said: “I’m very excited about the opportunities that platforms like Microsoft Power Apps provide our teams, particularly in my new role heading up the Office of Data Analytics in Leeds.?As we extend our understanding of the platform, we are generating lots of ideas and thoughts of how we can implement simplistic applications to improve?the way we capture data?and generate stronger intelligence for our decision makers".
