Getting to the Meat of Sitecore Symposium 2019

We are now back from Sitecore Symposium and now amid the MVP Applications Journey. A lot was discussed at Symposium this year but what I heard most was Saas and Content Hub. Now my view may be bias because I was wearing my "You Had Me At Metadata" T-Shirt on and therefore had lots of meaningful discussions about Content Hub because of it.

Let's start with SaaS. This is kind of a big deal in the Sitecore realm and has been something people have been asking for a while. This was the carrot provided and talked about this year. The real meat was Content Hub. It is SaaS now. It is API First. It is here as the cure to your Content Crisis.

You are probably smiling and saying Chris are you drinking the Kool Aid. I heard it a few times this week but I don't like Kool Aid, I love the Vodka that I drank with ?ukasz Skowroński that first Sunday of Symposium. Strong, Smooth and clean. When I look at Content Hub and the architecture that is how I would describe it.

  • API First. Everything you can do in the UI you can do via the API.
  • Everything is an Entity with properties. This means you can build whatever taxonomy you require including a hierarchy with relationships.
  • Triggers and Actions. These allow you to customize the entire system simply by defining a trigger and assigning it an Action. These actions can be an api call, a call to Azure Service Bus, some C# script or to a state machine.
  • Every page can be customized. You can create your own pages and components or reuse an existing component.

Want to know more about Content Hub reach out to me or join Sitecore Content Hub Mentoring Guild here on LinkedIn.

If you are in Toronto on November 27th look for me in my "You Had Me At Metadata" T-Shirt and I will answer your questions. RSVP with the meetup it is often streamed live as well. https://meetu.ps/e/Hjr2x/HhVR/a

You had me at metadata, but I stayed for the steak.

Vegans will eat out for such a title and a teaser image, my friend!) As for the article - would agree with it.? It was a pleasure meeting you there, as usual!
