Not Getting Lost on the Efficiency Highway

"We need to streamline our current workflow."

No matter what company we work for, at some point, this initiative or email comes through as a rally cry to get us all on-board to find fallacies, unnecessary repetition or, begs us to think of all the ways we can enhance our daily routine to build stronger process improvement.

I was fortunate to work for a company for many years that went through multiple changes to find better ways to conduct their daily business. Each department worked hard to leverage their employees to find solutions, put them into practice, evaluate returns and continue a positive path forward.

A goal of 100% streamlined efficiency in every aspect of our work life is not an obtainable goal. Processes change. Things begin going down a steady path then*Wham!*, out of the blue, something takes us by surprise and we must start the process over again.

This is why I am passionate about Land Information Services and the LandVantage software. Is that a lead in to a sales pitch? Slightly, but more so I want you to understand that companies have found solutions to the frustrating old school systems. I spent years working on programs that worked.....but not designed to help me expedite processes and save the company money. You could complete the job and with enough double checking and 1,844 mouse clicks later you had your information entered but with that came a cost. A cost of time. A cost of effort. And, with so much system fluff, there was always bound to be an oversight no matter how detail focused a individual was. The created even more checks and balances. Created more sign offs. Created more physical paperwork for review.

LandVantage was created for those looking for the upmost level of efficiency. Users can input data quicker, supervisors can pull reports to see what tasks are still open to help make sure all assignments are completed on time and the training time for most land professionals isn't measured in days.....its generally measured in minutes. The system is so intuitive and easy to navigate we find people reaching a level of comfort and use incredibly quickly with great understanding of how to find all of their important data. Reviews and signs offs happen within the system. No paperwork. And if the boss is out of town and you still need approval? Any users ability to sign in from wherever they are while working off a phone or tablet has the ability to strengthen any business unit. Processes that averaged weeks to complete can be accomplished in hours or less.
